Since its inception in 2013, Zepp Health has developed a platform of proprietary technology including AI chips, biometric sensors and data algorithms, which drive a broadening line of smart devices for consumer health and fitness, data analytics services for population health, and industrial medical technology for diagnostics and care delivery.
With a vision to connect health with technology, Zepp Health was founded in 2013, serving consumer health and fitness with smartwatches and smart bands. That has expanded into other intelligent health products, such as ear buds, scales and home fitness equipment, as well as consumer services.
By year-end 2020, Zepp Health had built a base of nearly 40 million active users. As the company’s scale has grown, it has begun developing data analytics services to leverage all or parts of its data to population health managers and medical researchers.
In 2020, the company recognized that its engineering expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and miniaturization could be applied to emerging industrial medical technologies, and began developing partnerships with several disruptive medical imaging companies.
Zepp Health is one of the largest global developers of smart wearable health and consumer fitness devices, shipping over 45 million units in 2020. Building on its base of more than 38 million active users, the company is developing data analytics revenue streams with insurers, employers, care providers and technology partners.
In 2020, the company initiated programs for developing industrial health technology offerings with commercial and investment partnerships with medical imaging companies, Promaxo (MRI), Rouumtech (X-Ray) and Hyperfine Research (MRI).
